In an attempt to thwart Southern Vietnamese forces and pull back the United States presence in Saigon, Northern Vietnamese General Vo Nguyen Giap launched a series of attacks on 100 different cities in south Vietnam. The Significance behind the event was the attacks were led on Tet the Vietnamese new year when the South were most vulnerable for attack. The Tet offensive was a crucial part in letting the North gain a foothold in the war against the South. However the United States and South Vietnam held of enemy forces but, the fight was broadcast on American televisions which began the distaste of the Vietnam War in America and the fleeting support of the country.

It shows the Ho Chi Minh trail running through Laos and Cambodia and the battles that occurred on it like the invasion of Laos in 1971, also the U.S air raids on supply routes on the trail the U.S spent millions on bombing the trail from 1965-1973.
